The designers were faced with the task of dividing one room into two zones: a bedroom and a living room. It was possible to delineate the boundaries of different zones using visual tricks. Using textures and materials, the authors of the project created a “room” within a room. To do this, the sleeping area by the window was turned into a wooden cube.
To do this, we first built a podium 30 centimeters high from timber and moisture-resistant SyPly birch plywood 21 millimeters thick. The multilayer structure of plywood provides high stability and strength, allowing the structure to withstand heavy loads. The base of the podium serves as a solid platform for cabinets, and also hides a storage system under the structure itself and the mattress. On top, the podium frame was covered with high-density Lamarty laminated chipboards in the “ Noce Neapol” shade. The sleeping area was completed with panels on the walls and ceiling made of laminated chipboard in the same tone. One of the walls here hides a wardrobe made of the same material as the podium. Inside there are compartments with shelves, full extension drawers and clothes rails. Hinged doors open by pressing, which made it possible to get away from standard handles and create the illusion of wall panels. The result is a cube with a single design, inside which there are all the functions of a full-fledged room: individual lighting, a place to sleep and many storage systems.
A mattress took its place on top of the podium, which, thanks to special pillows, can play the role of a bed and turn into a comfortable sofa for entertaining guests. The second sofa in the living room continues the bedroom podium. Its base is made of laminated chipboards in "Noce Neapol" decor, and backrest cushions lean against the back panel of the structure. Spacious drawers are hidden in the lower part of the sofa. This continuation of textures allowed us to blur the boundaries a little and connect the areas of the room with each other.
The cabinets in the living area mimic the color of the walls - they are made of Lamarty laminated chipboard in the pearl shade "Grey 7810" in the texture "Light Silk". In total, the storage system has fifteen doors of different sizes and opening methods, which hide many useful functions. The air conditioner is hidden in the uppermost compartment. Underneath there is a wardrobe with a hidden dressing table made of laminated chipboard in the “Hugge” decor, imitating a fabric surface. Access to the section with a modern dressing table is provided by facades, which, if necessary, are retracted into the side grooves of the storage system. This solution allows you to significantly save space in the room. At the same time, the table disappears imperceptibly, without creating visual noise in the room.
The living room area was outlined with graphic lines: the accent wall was decorated with 3D plaster panels. Vertical lines create the illusion of height in the room and add dynamics and rhythm to the interior. At the border between the bedroom and living room, pendants hang from the ceiling like strings of large pearls.
The room was filled with decor in shades of blue, white and beige: a pair of “pearl” pillows, blue and soft, and a shaggy blanket to match them, flowers, books and a cup on an improvised bedside table. A plush pouffe was hidden under the dressing table, and magical aromas lurked on the dressing table itself, waiting for the hostess.
Especially for the pet, the cat Lucy, there was its own relaxation area - a wall complex, which consists of panels-scratching posts up to the ceiling, a soft hammock and two round shelves wrapped in cotton rope.
