The homeowner’s passion for aviation and the sky became the starting point for the design concept — the interior was envisioned as a symbolic business-class cabin, where every detail serves comfort and every line prioritizes ergonomic harmony. The kitchen-living room and hallway were transformed into a capsule-like space, free from fuss, yet filled with the feeling of flight and tranquility.
The room allocated for renovation had a complex layout — a long, narrow rectangle with tight proportions. The task of the “Dachny Otvet” team was not only to visually correct the geometry, but also to create a true architectural composition — shaping functional zones without explicit boundaries. The kitchen and living areas flow into one another with continuous, fluid lines that avoid abrupt transitions. The walls gently embrace, corners are rounded, and the ceiling is multi-leveled, featuring built-in lighting and a soft, sculptural geometry.
To bring this idea to life in form and material, a flexible yet durable structural foundation was required. The walls and ceiling were sheathed in SyPly plywood, which perfectly met the project’s technical needs while providing a solid, sound-insulating base for the finishing materials. Over this plywood foundation, quartz laminate with a natural oak pattern was installed — not only on the floor, but seamlessly climbing up the walls and extending onto the ceiling, creating the impression of a continuous, flowing shell throughout the space. Light-colored areas were finished with microcement, which, like the laminate, transitions effortlessly across surfaces, unifying the interior into a monolithic yet airy environment. The sense of softness was enhanced by rounded projections and built-in partitions that divide the space without breaking its integrity.
Beneath the staircase, a concealed storage space was created — a “luggage compartment” with its own discreet entrance, just like on a real aircraft.
The kitchen area became the heart of the project. A central island with a curving countertop connects at an angle to the dining table, and together they resemble the wing of an airplane. Tall cabinetry along the wall discreetly hides appliances and storage systems, maintaining a sleek, minimalist look. The living room serves as a secluded capsule: a modular sofa transforms to suit the homeowners’ needs, while a multifunctional ottoman combines seating, storage, and tabletop functions.
Final touches breathe life into the interior: vertical glowing lines on the walls in the lounge area create soft lighting, add rhythm, and invite relaxation. Perimeter lighting along the ceiling reinforces the sense of levitation and lightness.
